Unassigned Entry # 5 The anchor of my heart

It is never easy to get adjusted to one life to then have it crumbled and having to be rebuilt a new way. With having had my fiance by my side for four years its has been difficult adjusting to have him not be home. We will have been together five years in July and for almost this whole year he has been gone. October 24, the day I will never forget, is the day he left and besides him being home two weeks for Christmas he has been on a base in another state. Even though we do not live together yet, it was hard adjusting to having the one person by your side to not having them there. It has been hard, but knowing he will be home soon is a sigh of relief, it is still tough, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
It has been a tough journey, but I have survived and of next year July I will be Mrs. Flores. If he gets stationed somewhere I will be able to go with him and knowing he may go many places while in the military it does not matter how far he goes we will always be together, a family of our own, unbreakable.

Entry # 5 Media and I

Since talking about media in class, I have been noticing different types of media and different things going on in the media today. Recently I have been looking more closely at ad's. Big ones and little ones, but I find the same commonality in each, those ad companies are sneaky and good at it. We recently watched to coca-cola commercial and that's what got me thinking, "if there are using coke to do this selective advertising, what else could they be using". More and more companies are taking the facts and twisting them to get consumers to buy their products and what not. Although for them it is a good strategies, it is unfair to the population to not really know the true facts.
Media is a huge impact on almost everyone lives. Media and social networking are everywhere and not finding either of them is rare. It is like a virus you can't get rid of so if you can't beat them join them. I find my self using my phone to use Facebook  Google  the internet and everything under the sun. There is just no getting away from this stuff. Social media is not only used for advertising, but to displaying feelings of all sorts. Now a days you can put just about anything in a post from your feelings, to where you are or even what your doing. Its amazing to think how many people just put it all out there, but hey if they want life as an open book for people to read that's their choice. I constantly see media and look at it differently now and I try to find the hidden message in their that the companies don't want the population to see.

Unassigned Entry #4 Cars: Transportation not Toys

Lately, on average, I have been doing more driving than I normally do. I know I have only been driving almost two years, but I feel as though I am a good driver. I am very cautious and I know all of the rules of the road, but I can not speak for others. In the past week I have seen four car crash after maths, I witnessed and additional two car crashes, and I have almost gotten into three car accidents due to distracted drivers and reckless drivers. I never used to be scared of driving, but lately it is a fear I am having. Because of people, like the one pictured above, more people are getting into car accidents and it is a serious problem. Having come so close to getting in car accidents myself, because of people talking on their phones or just not paying  attention, it is a very scary situation. Most deaths in the United States are caused by car accidents. I am guilty of checking my phone at a red light, but I do not dare text while driving because I know the consequences of what could happen if I do. Sending that one text can wait compared to losing your life over it. Just recently a former classmate of mine from high school passed away due to a car accident. I am not fully aware of how the accident was cause, but the two highest causes of car accidents are distracted and or reckless driving. If every person could just wait to check that text until they are safely parked or just paid that ounce more of attention there would be fewer accidents and fewer lives would be taken away at such an early age.

#4 Capitalism: destruction made easy

The film we watched in class was nothing like I have ever seen before. I knew little about this subject and I feel as though I know everything there is to know. This movie was very informative and uses a great deal of the rhetorical triangle. Not only did the movie use logic, but this movie used a vast amount of emotion to be able to connect to the common people who have suffered through times like this. For him to be able to use such a great deal of emotion, it gave him an advantage to suck people in and to get people to see his point of view and be able to persuade them. My first reaction to this movie was that it was just another boring movie I had to watch in one of my classes, but I was amazed at how intrigued and interested in this movie I was. I have never been into politics and items of this such nature but something about this movie caught my eye and was different from the rest. This movie provoked human emotion to real problems going on in the United States and that is why I feel that this movie caught my eye. Capitalism is a very serious issue and Moore did a very good job of getting to the bottom of some of these big issue that go along with capitalism. I never would have thought of him to be a film maker, but he surprised me with this movie that really captured my attention and brought out my emotions.
