Assigned Entry # 6 The final blog
Over the course of the semester, blogging became a thing of normalcy. I have never blogged before so it was very new to me. I really took a liking to our blogging assignments and I have very much looked forward to each new assignment. I now really enjoy blogging and I might continue this trend in the future. Blogging has been a good way to share my views of different questions that have been asked over the course of the semester. I took this blogging experienced seriously and I enjoyed doing so, but I have also put my spin on this and made it my own so while it is serious, it is still fun. I took this serious because it is a good and fun thing to do and a good way to share thoughts and opinions among different people. By blogging this semester I learned how to share my thoughts and opinions with others. I believe that this project is a very good assignment and is very useful. This gives students an opportunity to blog about a specific topic, then give them some freedom to share their own thoughts on their own topic. It is a fun assignment and much better than a reading assignment. I really enjoyed this project and I am so to see it end. I hope to continue this and i hope others do to. Farewell my fellow bloggers. -Alexandria

Unassigned Entry # 5 The anchor of my heart

Entry # 5 Media and I
Since talking about media in class, I have been noticing different types of media and different things going on in the media today. Recently I have been looking more closely at ad's. Big ones and little ones, but I find the same commonality in each, those ad companies are sneaky and good at it. We recently watched to coca-cola commercial and that's what got me thinking, "if there are using coke to do this selective advertising, what else could they be using".
More and more companies are taking the facts and twisting them to get consumers to buy their products and what not. Although for them it is a good strategies, it is unfair to the population to not really know the true facts.
Media is a huge impact on almost everyone lives. Media and social networking are everywhere and not finding either of them is rare. It is like a virus you can't get rid of so if you can't beat them join them. I find my self using my phone to use Facebook Google the internet and everything under the sun. There is just no getting away from this stuff. Social media is not only used for advertising, but to displaying feelings of all sorts.
Now a days you can put just about anything in a post from your feelings, to where you are or even what your doing. Its amazing to think how many people just put it all out there, but hey if they want life as an open book for people to read that's their choice. I constantly see media and look at it differently now and I try to find the hidden message in their that the companies don't want the population to see.

Unassigned Entry #4 Cars: Transportation not Toys
Lately, on average, I have been doing more driving than I normally do. I know I have only been driving almost two years, but I feel as though I am a good driver. I am very cautious and I know all of the rules of the road, but I can not speak for others. In the past week I have seen four car crash after maths, I witnessed and additional two car crashes, and I have almost gotten into three car accidents due to distracted drivers and reckless drivers. I never used to be scared of driving, but lately it is a fear I am having.
Because of people, like the one pictured above, more people are getting into car accidents and it is a serious problem. Having come so close to getting in car accidents myself, because of people talking on their phones or just not paying attention, it is a very scary situation. Most deaths in the United States are caused by car accidents. I am guilty of checking my phone at a red light, but I do not dare text while driving because I know the consequences of what could happen if I do. Sending that one text can wait compared to losing your life over it. Just recently a former classmate of mine from high school passed away due to a car accident. I am not fully aware of how the accident was cause, but the two highest causes of car accidents are distracted and or reckless driving. If every person could just wait to check that text until they are safely parked or just paid that ounce more of attention there would be fewer accidents and fewer lives would be taken away at such an early age.

#4 Capitalism: destruction made easy
The film we watched in class was nothing like I have ever seen before. I knew little about this subject and I feel as though I know everything there is to know. This movie was very informative and uses a great deal of the rhetorical triangle. Not only did the movie use logic, but this movie used a vast amount of emotion to be able to connect to the common people who have suffered through times like this. For him to be able to use such a great deal of emotion, it gave him an advantage to suck people in and to get people to see his point of view and be able to persuade them. My first reaction to this movie was that it was just another boring movie
I had to watch in one of my classes, but I was amazed at how intrigued and interested in this movie I was. I have never been into politics and items of this such nature but something about this movie caught my eye and was different from the rest. This movie provoked human emotion to real problems going on in the United States and that is why I feel that this movie caught my eye. Capitalism is a very serious issue and Moore did a very good job of getting to the bottom of some of these big issue that go along with capitalism. I never would have thought of him to be a film maker, but he surprised me with this movie that really captured my attention and brought out my emotions.

Unassigned Entry #3 Wedding planning for dummies
For this entry I thought I wold stray away from the "norm" of my Navy blogs and talk about a spin off from one of my past blogs, Wedding planning. Being 19 and in college you don't expect to be planning a wedding, but I have never been like other people and I am planning a wedding. Next to school planning a wedding takes up all of my time. The list of things to do and plan for a wedding is longer than a extreme couponers receipt. I have only started my planning and yet I am overwhelmed. My parents are paying for the wedding, but with worrying about college tuition, that budged is slim. That takes one stress off me, but with my fiance having a big family makes for trying to have a small wedding impossible
.
The seating chart, the venue, the food, the guest list, and the dress and rings are just few of the many things I must do to prepare and not knowing the exact date does not help. We have picked a month and day, but the year is still undecided. I have always loved the color pink, but for my wedding there is just not a place for the color pink. The color blue is not only both of our eye colors, but we always ending matching and blue just happens to be the color we match in. Planning a wedding is so much work, but it is so worth it in the end. I can't wait to marry the love of my life and even though we are so young love brought us together and for us now is the right time.

Entry # 3 Class Cut
Being a college student is a lot of effort and is very time consuming. When picking colleges, I choose Glendale Community College for two reasons. One because the tuition at four year universities is ridiculously expensive and two because the class sizes are much smaller. With Arizona State University implementing their new shortened classes, with plenty of them to go around, it is causing a lot of controversy on both spectrum of opinions. The 15 week classes will now be shortened to only 7 1/2 week classes. This means the new abundance of these shortened classes will be fast passed and will be all the information of the 15 week classes. With this comes more change. The tuition will be cut for these classes and will now be more affordable and the calendar schedule will change drastically. While this idea of shorter classes and more of them is a good idea not only to save money, but also be able to finish your degree faster, they are setting the students up for disaster. Cramming these 15 week classes into 7 1/2 is bad enough, but having them be online is just the icing on the cake. Most students need the face to face hands on contact to be able to learn. I know certainly do, and with these new changes the students are going to be struggling more in these classes than regular ones.
When reading this article I felt that it was lacking some rhetoric. Their defiantly needed to be more information on how students and teachers opinions and I really did not see any of the ethos or pathos, but I did see logos. There was some logic, but I felt they could have done a better job writing this article. The comments I saw really did not have much to do about the topic and it was people just arguing over random topics, which on an article like this is no place to do that.
